A Look Ahead 2-16

Reading: This
week we will focus on story elements, plot, and main idea. We will predict, and
make inferences based on the events in the book. YOU should be reading 10-15
pages daily. Homework is fairly short, so make some time each night to read. Also
don’t forget a sticky note when you read something you want to bring up with
the group the next day.
Math: Lessons 8-12; Subtracting fractions with
unlike denominators, probability, finding part of a number, problem solving
strategies, and check your progress lessons 1-12. We will have a test early next
week. I am shooting for Tuesday.
Science: You have
your endangered animal project due Tuesday. Just fill out the form, and be sure
to follow the checklist. You may present your animal in any way you desire. You
can do a PowerPoint, a poster, diorama, etc… Choose a method to present that is
fun for you. I want YOU to do the work.
Social Studies:
Finally this week you will get to do your Biography. The Lego blocks will be
back. Of course you do not have to use Lego blocks. You may do your next
presentation as your choice as well. The only difference is it will all be done
at school. You may need to do some research to write the biography at home.
This grade will also be a grade in language.
We will take a really close look at the Declaration of Independence,
and how it impacted the colonies as well as England. We will continue to battles in the war as we
read through King George.
