A Look Ahead 10-17
Spelling: We will
not have a spelling test this week. You will have a vocabulary quiz based on
words used in the reader’s theater we will make. There is no list. It is
important for me to know if you know how a word is used based on how we use it
in the reader’s theater without rote memory. Of course, I will use words that
we discuss and will use in the theater.
For our Reading
class this week we will write, as a group a reader’s theater based on actual
events leading up to the first Thanksgiving as well as the days of
Thanksgiving. We will use the following
sites, as well as what we have learned from our virtual field trip, and What
was The First Thanksgiving book.

In Math we will
begin chapter 6, Measurement. I plan to make it through lesson 5. We will not
have class on Friday due to the field trip. We will do a lesson check on
lessons 1-5 when we return from break.
Science: We will
study the life cycles of various animals. We will complete a study guide on
what we have learned so far on vertebrate animals Wednesday, and take a quiz on
Friday morning. Check the blog for fun
games and interactive sites related to what we have learned so far.
Social Studies
will be tied in with reading, but we will also study the middle colonies this
week, and try to complete the middle section of the group work foldable by
Thursday. We will read page 209-227 in our text. Part of our information will
come from the following youtube link below.
